We need a good Shovel

Of the Woods Hydrangea and Peony Farm

Can anyone suggest a garden shovel that can stand up to digging out hydrangeas and peonies? We've broken many shovels during the past few years. They've come from box stores, Ace hardware and Wal-mart. Does anyone make a sturdy shovel? I'm thinking of creating a sculpture installation using all our broken shovels.

Ames/True Temper - made in PA, and if you sharpen it at least once a year it will last much longer!

My first purchase out of college were my Felco #2 pruners. My second purchase was a 'King of Spades' spade. Heavy, sharp (I sharpen every year) and is now 29 years old!! Favorite tool and handles the big jobs. I paid over $100 back then which was a HUGE investment. This looks like mine.
