you want them to hold every sized bottle of wine someone may bring you. it makes me crazy when i have one of something that doesnt fit where the others are. i'd rather too much space for some than not enough for one.

I just completed a job with the exact same concern. The solution that worked the best was making square incerts that fit inside the main bottle holder. They allow for a smaller bottle, but if you need to put in a 1.5ml bottle you just slide out the incert and store on top or under your cabinetry. Then when you finish the larger bottle, you place the incert back in it's place and you can use it for the .750ml bottle.
