Raise the planter or not

Do you have a tray under you planters to catch water in winter and or summer? Is the plant elevated to not sit in the tray? During the heat of summer I was thinking maybe to not elevate the planter. I thought to add water and then place back in tray to help with humidity. What are your thoughts.

It shouldnt matter. I have trays under all of mine indoors. Ive never had a problem with rot. Adeniums do well in humidity as well as drier air.

I have trays under mine through out the winter months here, but when I water I always water until it comes through freely. Thus, emptying any and all water which comes through from bottom of pot.

I do not use trays under pots in summer months.
