Create a box and the hardware to attach your shelves will be hidden within the box, usually at the back of the box unless you're creating a corner unit. You can paint the interior of the box, including the back wall of the box and any screws you used to hang the box/shelf.

You could either put the tv on a shelf or get a wall bracket for it. There are a lot of different kinds available. Some hold the tv in place, others have a swing arm that will enable you to pull the tv away from the wall and adjust the angle.
