curtain crisis

I have no sense of style or design!! I just bought a new couch and I really want to get rid of the tacky blinds on the sliding glass door. what color/design curtains should I get? they have to be blackout since the sun shines right into the TV. please help me! the couch is black/dark grey. the opposite wall is dark red.

Put high tech UV film on the sliders, drapes at the window and matching cornice or functioning roman shade above the slider. If you need to cover it entirely, you can mount a fiber shade that can be pulled up and hidden behind the cornice when not needed.

How about painting the red wall the same color as the rest. It's sucking all the light out of the room.

Ikea has very nice room darkening grommet top drapes at a good price. You can even use a light color which would help with the look of the room.

I agree with decoenthusiaste and really don't have much to add except that I like your red wall! I'm now fighting that battle with my husband who likes nice light grays and not much else, so I'm a little partial
