I would make the room with the fireplace a deep rich blue. Charcoal blue by Sherwin Williams. For the room with the bar, I would coordinate it with a pale gray. Grayish by Sherwin Williams. Both colors can be the backdrop for so many alternatives from rugs to furniture to accessories. If you have any more questions please reach out. The Lavender Lemon.

It's hard to say without your expected furniture but I would turn that lighting into downlighting to show the pretty floors and wash the walls with light too.

Here on Houzz and other design sites, it's said to work best to choose rugs first, then move onto the furniture and lastly the paint. After all there are millions of paint options but not so much in textiles/rugs. Another question is how long have you lived here? If you're just moving in I'll be the party pooper and suggest you wait a year so that you see how the light changes thru the seasons. The walls look clean & the colour seems fairly neutral so it's not as though you'd be living in a dump. Sure it's a blank slate to you and you're panting to make it yours but just think about how much time, trouble and money you'll save by waiting and actually curating your home.

It is a nice, neutral color. I wouldn't change it. Add color with artwork, accent pillows and rugs.

Little dark, so I would paint the ceiling and shelves around the fireplace a white, I would paint the walls an ice blue. But I agree with another person to buy a rug you like and pick up colors out of the rug. I would also update the hanging light and fan. Nice room, I am sure it will be beautiful.

Walls show current trends. IMO, issues are the dark fireplace wall and lighting. I would go white-white on the ceilings and add crown in the trim color. So much depends on what is going into the room I hesitate to suggest colors.

Either you already lived there or just moved in, I would go for white on the ceiling and let colorful rugs and wall arts do the rest. The actual nutral color is very cozy and goes perfectly with the floor colour. The white ceiling will add only light without taking away the cozy / chic effect. As for the rugs (preferably persian colorful rugs) and the wall arts, they will add a touch of life and richness to this already beautiful place.

Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan HC-81 (very light beige). Had my entire house painted that color two months ago, and it doesn't turn any off colors no matter the time of day or whether it's gloomy out, and the color doesn't compete with anything. It seemed too light when they first started painting, but it really brightened everything up. I recommend painting a partial wall and living with it for a few days, no matter what color you go with. Your house is beautiful and the floors are stunning!

I like the space you're dealing with. When I choose a paint color, it's usually from a picture or painting that I plan to have in the room. Sometimes it is the most subtle of the colors. I leave the picture out and paint a few different colored swatches next to it. Look at it for a couple of days and then make my decision. So many wonderful choices out there now. Have fun!

You have a great house to work with. Live with it a while b/4 you paint, you'll change your mind a dozen times. I so agree with pick your rugs, etc. first and then go to paint colors last. Use neutral furniture & light but definetly not WHITE paint. My daughter has Manchester Tan and I think it is way too dark & our of date now.
