Branching a Fiddle Leaf Fig

Hi all, I've been following the forum for quite some time, but it's my first time contributing. There always seems to be such helpful advice being shared.

I've attached images of my 6 foot fiddle leaf fig, which has been growing quite well. It has 4 separate trunks. I'm now planning to try and have it branch out in an umbrella style ideally. I've read lots of notching, back-budding, etc., I was wondering if anyone had advice on which was the best route for me to go and if there were any resources they could share on techniques.

As well, any insight on removing some of the lower leaves once the branching has kicked in would be great. I've currently left the leaves on assuming this will help create a stronger trunk/support.

Much appreciated!
