Hi, I just purchased a 2nd floor condo with hardwood floors. Turns out they nailed the planks directly to the subfloor, no underlayment. So, within the first few days the downstairs neighbor came to talk... We are highly aware and respectful of living above someone. We don't walk, we slide. This isn't living. She can hear us talking normally, using the bathroom, the lightest walking, etc.

I'm open to pulling the floor and installing a GREAT underlayment and new hardwood BUT I need confidence that the product is tested and reviewed by a contractor or owner.

Anyone have experience with this? Product recommendations?

I would really appreciate any help!
