Don't often see primroses with their single stems for sale around here but polyanthus have been available for a couple of months now, I've not weakened and bought any as I sowed some Cowichan primula seed last October, more came up than I expected :). I doubt very much I will get flowers this year but hopefully next year. I couldn't find seed for them here in Canada so I had to get the seed from France. This is a primula first discovered here on the island in an area just 30 or so miles down the road from me. The Cowichan primulas have very velvety colors with little or no eye and the foliage has a bronze cast to it. The inky blues are my favorites, but the other colors are lovely too.

I noticed some foliage coming up in the front pocket garden today. BIG snow storm coming tomorrow, so they say - we'll see. Anyway, they should be fine. They do have some plants for sale right now, but if I do buy any they will stay inside to give us some colour. Then I desperately try to keep them alive to plant out in a few weeks. I just love the look of them. I have not had too much success with seed tbh. Cowichan sounds lovely - funny to have to get the seed from France. :(
