Cybisters, for me any way, do not send up leaves or root ( if you have a new bulb) until it is totally through blooming. And, I suppose this is the case with seedpods also, it's just not through with the cycle.

I currently have a #0016, a true cybister that has no roots but is growing 4 seemingly healthy seedpods and I marvel at the strength of this bulb also!! It has shrunken but is still firm. Cybisters are amazing aren't they!!

I will add though that I had a President Johnson which is not a cybister that did the same thing with 4 seedpods and it died.

I really like those pictures, Peridot and Donna! I got a Rosario last year ( a very nice mislabel) that flowered with two stems and made seeds and then stayed there for more than two months doing nothing. Finally it rooted and grew some leaves and to my surprise it's going to rebloom for me soon! Bulbs are just amazing things...

Now that your lovely Bogota has rooted you might try again for some seeds. I didn't have any luck with my new Bogota this year on an unrooted bulb, but if you happen to have some Sweet Lilian pollen, that took for me a few years ago and I've got a pot of seedlings growing on. Good luck with what ever you decide and give Jule a chin scratch for me!!

I have to concur with the others. Even though I'm not a cat-person (I'm not a dog-person either!) your three-colored-one is a true beauty. My brother's cats always knocked my gifted Hippeastrum off so he had to take them with him to work - that is the plants, not the cats ;)

Bogota is great. I have similar experiences with my Merengue (also a false papilio) that should be a close relative - it's a bit more narrow and to the orangy-side.

Well, Carl, younger energetic kitten/cats will get into mischief but for some reason during most of my life, older cats in need of a home and love have found their way to my yard and an older cat makes the nicest pet you can imagine!! All warm and purring ball of fur sitting in your lap, maybe someday you'll change your mind.

When I first got married I had two cats that I had got as kittens and my husband was a dog man but he's since done a complete reversal. Maybe there's hope for you yet!!

And I did dusting the
flowers with some pollen... With four flowers I put on Santiago, two
flowers got Ambiance on it and two got Rembrandt van Rijn.

My original #0016 died due to having its insides devoured by a NBF but a bulb fairy from this forum gifted me with another one about 2 or 3 years ago and it's doing fine. It's well rooted and bloomed when it initially came to live with me but currently it is just growing leaves. I'm hoping that it will bloom again for me sometime this year.

All pollinations on my new this year Bogota failed probably because it was and still has not rooted. But yours, being well rooted should take with the nice choices that you have given her!! Good Luck and let us know what happens!!
