This forum appears pretty dead, sorry. I'm no terrarium expert but I will say that I stuck a few tiny ferns (that I found in other purchased plants) into a little terrarium I made last summer. The ferns have grown a lot and look great, so that may be a good option for you. I'm not familiar with the other plants you mentioned...

If you are trying to create terrs strictly with plants native to those areas you'll probably be out of luck..

1). Finding a supplier who carries plants native to those areas is highly unlikely. (And unlicensed harvesting of said plants could very well be illegal unless they are on your property.

2) Plants native to Minnesota will require a cold winter dormancy to remain healthy -- something you will be unlikely to accomplish successfully. (Oregon natives will likely be in the same boat.)

3) keep in mind that a 10gal is not that big of a tank. Most plants ...assuming they can adapt to you conditions...will quickly outgrow that tank. So you will either have to find plants that stay truly mini (and most that you will find at any terr supply place like those mentioned above will not) or be okay with needing to do some regular maintenance such as pruning and plant removal/replacement.

IME, ferns tend to do very well in terrs... So much so that they usually try to take over the whole tank. Planting them pot and all -- with the pot rim higher than the root mass in the pot -- will help slow them down, though you will still have to regularly remove escaping runners.
