Which Stocksund sofa fabric?

Can't decide on sofa fabric! I love the price, style and easy slipcovers of the ikea Stocksund sofa. We sat on it and thought it was very comfy. I love the cream for airiness but worry about the dirt. My walls are BM revere pewter and the area rug is pottery barn chunky gray wool and jute. I'm trying to create a base for tons of personality with color and pattern in throws , quilts, pillows and art, etc.
I'm kind of leaning towards the gray beige. What do people think?

Personally, I love the gray fabric. I also think that the fabric that almost has like a gold tone to it would be pretty!!

Then again, I love all of them besides the red!

The red stripe is another sofa line. It photo bombed my picture!
(although there is a solid soft red that is gorgeous but limiting, imo).
Do you mean the lightest fabric? It looks cream which I like. Here's a better pic of that.

I have the chairs in the dark gray, love them, they're like chameleons, changing color with the lighting, and picking up the tones of the surrounding decor. You can always get the lightest cream color if you really like it, the covers are completely removable so you can clean them periodically.

Have you taken the slipcovers off? How easy is it really?

They have a covered zipper down the back that allows you to really get it on and off easily, and there's Velcro to keep it all in place once you get it in position. I took mine off and on again just to check. I haven't had to clean them yet, but usually with the IKEA slipcovers, you can wash in cool water, and air dry, to avoid any shrinking. You can also take them to dry cleaners. If you can buy an extra set of slipcovers, in the same color or in any of the other colors you like (for a change of season look, perhaps) then you can give them a rest every so often. Will last all long time, it's a very sturdy, subtle herringbone pattern.

I do love the red too, a very soft, faded red velvet, gorgeous :)

ould do the red and then buy another set of slipcovers in another color to use once in a while when you want a change

Love the tiles on your fireplace!

I do like the grey/beige colour too. It's a nice medium between the dark grey and beige. Get another set of slipcovers, like suggested by several people already, and change them every so often. Two sofas (or more) for the price of one! What's not to like about that.

Yes I think the cream is really pretty! I love all of those colors. The gray and cream are my favorites.

It didn't have a gold tone. I was just getting a glare from the window in my living room! Haha! But the top two are just gorgeous.

Thank you everyone. I'm hoping to talk my husband into 2 slipcovers. It's a good idea. Winter/ summer. I'm also hoping to slip in a chair! IKEA is a dangerous place! I like the strandmon.

I'd love to get 2 chairs that match the sofa because I love the slipcovers but I've been reading this makes a room dull. Does it? What if I livened it up with different pillows and throws?

I like the strandmon too, very nice, clean modern look.

Here's a pic of the stocksund sofa and chairs in a room together. They're the same color, but I'm sure you could imagine contrasting colors. This room is more casual than yours probably will be but it can give you an idea :)

Oh I love it! Not too casual at all. That rug looks like mine, too. I think we'll go with the cream couch and chair and the gray strand chairs. Except I do love pattern and color. It's the books in that room that add that interest, I think.
I'll post a pic when it all comes together.

I have neutral slip-covered sofas and haven't regretted them. I love saturated color, but have incorporated the color in pillows and accents. Then when I get tired of that color, I swap things out and voila, a new look. If you go with the neutrals, you can use lovely red throws in the winter, and come spring/summer, swap out with yellows and aquas.

With neutral walls and furniture, you can bring in loads of color and interest through other textiles, art and books, or even painting the back of your built in bookcases

    just a few inspiration pics

Also looks good if there's very little color added

Love those examples! I am loving this advice. Here's another question. I was thinking about painting just the bump out wall around the mantel a gray like the tile like this pic. Is this just too much gray?

I think a gray that matches your fireplace tiles would look great, it's certainly not going to overwhelm the room, especially with the white built ins around it. Great idea :)

Woohoo, another convert!! Wonderful choices too

Enjoy, and please, don't forget to show us some pics once you're ready :)

Re: Strandmon wing backs--- Every time I go to IKEA, I sit in one and wonder why I haven't bought one yet. The angle of the back is so perfectly comfortable.

I'd love to see pictures, too. :-)

Here's pics of the stocksund sofa. We loved it so much we bought another. Some might feel we have too much seating in here but it works perfectly for our large family.
I plan to get a smaller maybe round ottoman for the chairs and change out the lamps. Wouldn't mind lamp advice.
I know the plaid is not for everyone but I simply love it! It makes me feel englishy.

Cheers Carolina! Thank you ever so.

Everything turned out so beautifully and I absolutely love your tile choice around the fireplace! I do not see any cream colored slipcover options for the Stocksund chair. Super bummed! I think the other gray options are darker than what I would like. :/ How is the fabric holding up??

I love your room! I too am considering getting two Stocksund sofas and hoped to find a picture online of two in a room. Voila!

I love your white china on display, maybe a white lamp would tie in with that?

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! Thanks for sharing!!! I'm off to IKEA!!!

Are do you find them too deep to comfortably sit on while conversing with guest or for watching tv?
