Sammy, I don't think you watered long enough. We didn't get a drop of rain. I think that's what I am going to have to do is water for a couple of days then maybe it will bring us rain. I did wash my truck last week hoping that would help, but guess not.

we are starting to get pretty dry here. We've missed almost every system that's come thru.

again the question is do we plant for drought or will it start to rain in April?? As they say April showers bring May flowers.

We had a 40% chance of rain and didn't get a drop, and I'm glad. We've had enough rain lately and I was hoping the rain would miss us so Tim and I could spend this afternoon getting the back garden ready for planting since the front garden is almost full. So, in a few minutes we're going back outside to get the back garden ready for planting corn.

Rain is good, but we needed to remain dry this weekend for gardening purposes.

Stockergal, Just schedule an outdoor wedding. That will make it rain.

I almost always plant for drought, because even in a wet year overall, it seems like July and August heat and low moisture combine to make us have drought-like conditions even if we are not officially in drought.

Dorothy, I had to water containers and flats of plants yesterday, but we've had enough rain to keep the in-ground plants happy. We're forecast to get rain again mid-week. By then I'll have enough work done in the back garden that I'll be excited it is going to rain (so that means it probablywon't).

At least none of us got snow, though it appears some folks in NW OK received the Easter Snow, and tonight/tomorrow morning, some folks will get the Easter Freeze. Our forecast low is 36 for early tomorrow morning. Last week, the forecast was for 38 and we went to 32, so I'm expecting 30 degrees here in the morning. I always prepare for the worst case scenario because it seems like that is what we usually get.

Happily it snowed on the Kansas wild fire. Hopefully enough to control it. Interesting article said the up side of the fire is it burned many red cedar trees which will benefit prairie grass and water stores that are depleted by them.

We got almost a quarter inch and I would have loved that on my seedlings that are not yet in the ground, but it was too cold to have them outdoors. Forecast of 30 for tonight.

We didn't get any rain. I had to water today. My stuff isn't sprouting.

Amy, I think of that when I see wildfires burning around here. You know it is clearing out the cedar trees...the pyro technics are interesting as long as no one (and no structures) are in danger.
