Ok, so I have a couple of questions. I ordered a Fiddle Leaf Fig online from Home Depot. I was super excited to get started re-potting this beautiful specimen and enjoy it daily in my home. When the plant arrived I quickly jumped the gun and re-potted it in a beautiful pot. I live in Texas and come March it is already warm and the days are longer so I felt it was ok to re-pot. It has been 15 days and the plant has perked up beautifully. It was then I found this forum and started reading more into the plant and realized that I did a lot of things wrong:(

I thought I was using good soil but turns out reading all these post I am not. I am using a regular organic gardening soil with hard mulch mixed in to give the plant some air. I also have rocks at the bottom for drainage. I am thinking I have put this plant in water retentive soil and am not giving this plant the right start it deserves. I have also noticed since then that it seems as though there are two plants. I would like to make my own mix of soil and separate these two trees into separate pots but I do not want to stress the trees out to much considering I have already re-potted.

My question is, should I wait to re-pot and separate til next year or wait a month to let the plant settle and do it. We are entering into summer which I know is the best time to do work with this plant so I want to be prepared.

I am including three pictures of my plant. First one is right after re-pot, Second one is a picture of the two trunks at the base and Third picture is my Ficus perked up after 15 days.
