I'm sure they realized that quickly!

I have this same issue. It really bugs me, but I'm told it's not wise to reverse them because of where my water source is located (right) and, more importantly, having the dryer on the right side would require two 90 degree bends in the metal venting leading into the wall , whereas on the left side, it can't vent straight out with a short vent tube. I have LGs--the door may reversion the dryer, but not the washer. My option is to stack them, which would solve the door issue, but I prefer then side-by-side.

simmomruns - the doors can be unscrewed and moved to open in the opposite direction - there's no need to move the washer and dryer.

Thank you for your reply. I wish my LG. was designed that way, but it's not...only the dryer has a reversible door. My set is several years old, so perhaps LG has changed the design, but I don't believe that is the case. From my research online today, it looks like only Electrolux offers a front loader set with reversible doors on both the dryer and washer. If I remodel, stacking my stackable set of LG's (as apparently not all models are considered "stackable," despite being front-loading) would help loading and unloading without the annoyance of moving laundry around a door in the way (although it's not really that big of a deal...I'm used to it, now, even if it's less efficient).

I'm not sure what brand I saw recently on a HGTV program, however, I was literally blown away when the washer & dryer opened to make it way more convenient for the transferring of the clothes from the washer to the dryer cuz I find it so annoying when I constantly end up dropping clothes during this process - the washer door gets on the way!!

Most washers and dryers have instructions in the manual, how to turn the door around (so it opens the other way).

Update to my earlier comments: I moved my first-floor laundry room that is off of my garage/mudroom entrance to our college son's walk-in bedroom closet and rebuilt a smaller closet in his room. (He will be graduating in two months, so he will be off creating his own life, but he will always have a space to come "home" to, even if it's not as big!)The former laundry room was a combined small mudroom and laundry--really not a "mudroom" at all, but it received all the mud, anyway, so it served both purposes. Now that I have a new laundry upstairs, I LOVE it as all the bedrooms are upstairs. For the renovation, I had my washer and dryer positions flipped, and it makes it much easier to move the wet loads to the dryer without the loads getting tangled around doors that bang into each other. Again, my LG dryer door is reversible, but the washer door cannot be reversed, so it made sense to reverse the order of my machines. Perhaps other brands allow reversal of both machines' doors, but not mine which are several years old.
