18 day radishes!

I'm charmed by the De 18 Jours radishes I ordered from Baker Creek. After an initial washout of the first round of seeds, my March 1 sowing has madly produced cute little radishes! Who needs a giant radish anyway? Also, the tops aren't too fuzzy which is nice because I can still use them in salads.

As you can see in the pic, my asparagus is going great guns as well. YUM! Happy spring!

Yay! Any day you get to harvest from the garden and eat from the garden is a great day.

18 days under "ideal conditions." I don't think Oklahoma gets accused of those very often! Mine were past that to be as big as they are in my photo above but I have been harvesting and eating little ones for a while now! :)

Well, sometimes we have ideal conditions....for maybe 1 or 2 days out of the year. You have to enjoy them when you've got them because they sure won't last long.

I think the heat is making the cool-season plants grow really quickly. Most of my cool-season plants are as large now as they normally would be at the end of April or beginning of May. This, of course, is a positive thing, but I hope it is not a sign that a very hot summer is coming. Regular summers are bad enough.

Dawn - I know what you are talking about. I already am getting broccoli heads. Very small peaking through. And it is way too early. Maybe this will bode well for the Brussels sprouts? Because they sure are looking better than they have in previous years.
