Well it is definitely not hoya IML 1081 (That I own, it is megalaster). UT numbers don't go up that far (yet).

I should know this one...it looks very familiar. Gonna go root through the plant room.

I went back and bought the one in the above pictures. I hope as it grows out enough that I will find out its true ID. I am going to the USF Botanical Gardens next Saturday. I hope to meet the man there who sells them and ask him directly. Any way, I need serious counseling with this Hoya addiction !

Denise, this plant has some HUGE leaves, specially at the base of the plant. Very long large to very wide, same deep indent in the middle like yours, once I cleaned the hard water stains off the leaves, I saw the same type noticed veins. The leaves, once mature are stiff. Here are 2 more Pics.

Does any one else have the one Denise thinks it is, in their collection ?

Thank you everyone, I hope that is what it is. How the heck they came up with H 1081, I don't know. This is probably why Hoya names are so screwed up. I tried Googling H Surigaoensis and found few references about it. Your leaves are all so beautiful ! Tawny, your leaves show every nook and cranny and shine so glossy, is that caused by growing conditions or leaf shine ? And yes, they are as wide as my palm in places, your hand are excused, lol. Denise's leaves are slightly darker than mine which range from lime to light green. Then again, I have no idea how mine was grown, full sun / shade/ under lights etc. All mine are grown outside on a west facing patio with full to partial sun In the summer, in Florida and I have never had a scorched leaf on anything including my Sunrise. Let's see what some Fl. steam heat and sun can do to this one.

One side note, can some one please spell this one out phonetically for me ? I almost sprang my tongue and got a hernia trying to pronounce it.

Some of the crazy names make me wince, so I tend to nickname them. And who knows if we're pronouncing them right? I spent my whole life with no doubt that I was pronouncing Kalanchoe right (just like it looks), then I heard a professional grower in our cactus club say it Kal-an-KO-ee! I can NOT retrain myself no matter how hard I try! LOL!

I say it siri (like the computer voice) -gayo-ensis. So it's nickname is Siri. My least favorite name, and the one that gives me cramps in MY tongue, is tjadasmalangensis.I don't even know where to begin with this one, so it's nickname is just "Chad" because I figure "tj" together must surely be a "ch" sound!

Thank you Denise, at least I am not alone. I thought Verticillata was pronounced it ver-TICK- u -lata.

I remember the 2 on your most wanted list by association, too, Denise. I am on constant look out for a Mani-Pedi and a Mazda Miata or in real Hoya speak, an H. Manipurensis and an H. Mitrata ! (and not H. Micrantha because you had 2 on your trade list)

All I need to complete my must have list is a "mind-your-business" or Hoya Mindorensis. Its the blooms that do it for me, all those hairs, I love it. If I didn't use this word association, I would be so confused (dyslexia is the gift that keeps on giving) but then in the world of Hoyas, who isn't confused at least some of the time ? That is why we all come here at least once to ask for help with an ID.

Once again, thank you all so very much. Such awesome people on this forum, always so helpful and kind. So, to any lurkers out there that feel your question might look foolish or are just to shy to ask, like I once was, come on in and join the conversation. I know I am glad I did. LOL you guys are killing me. Every time I watch one of Doug's videos, I'm like so that's how you pronounce it! Even motoskei I was pronouncing wong. <---typo but it stays :')

@marco, I use a foliage cleanser called Brand X. It's non-toxic, eradicates mealies and scale, and shines up your leaves! Love it, I'm always raving about it.

Thanks Tawny, I will look into it. My Merrillii also has nice hard leaves that might like it, too. Doug's video about my Ilagiorum had me going, "say what, it's not ILL - ah - gorium ?"
