Up the road a landscaper has decorated the entrance to a recent development and now that spring is here, the shrubs have begun to bloom. A gorgeous small shrub (5 ft, 1.7 M) compact shrub has caught my interest. It has linear dangling clusters of medium to light yellow (not gold) flowers about 5/8 in (1.5 cm) across in groups of 5-10. Clusters are quite compact at about 2 in ( 5 cm) length. Stems have unusual bark with a dotted appearance, similar to the bark on Cercis seedlings though lighter in background color. I thought at first on driving by it was a pale colored forsythia, but it definitely isn't. Plant is much tidier and refined, and not as wirey. Would love to identify this so I can search for some to purchase.

Any ideas as to genus or common name?
