Nice looking plants! They will die if they are done. If they are putting out new foliage, they are starting another year and will be putting out bloom stalks. IME some of them may bloom for more than one season, but be sure to let at least a few seed pods ripen if you want them long-term. You can't count on them being perennial, though sometimes they behave as short-lived perennials.

Thanks! If any seed pods ripened, it was deep into the rainy season. I never did deadhead them because they bloomed so late. I'll keep an eye out for seed pods this year though. I'm definitely developing a hollyhock addiction!

Once I had blooming hollyhocks, I was never without plants at some stage of growth. The seeds drop and germinate, producing a new generation.
