Scale Insects.

Thanks! A new one for me. So, sounds like I need horticultural oil. I wonder why they end up weak near the fall.

You're welcone. I'm guessing the stress of surviving our hot summers might cause them to be weaker in fall.

I think it's the Scales. I know summer stress does it too, but, mine are so sad compared to others near me. Much earlier. I am guessing the scales are "sapping" the strength somewhat.
