Frozen Hiacinth, Daffodils, but not crocuses.

With the weather roller coaster we had around here, this is the first time I have ever had to go out and remove rotting blooms because of the cold. I always thought that these plants were hardy enough to stand the cold but I guess I was wrong.

The crocuses did not fail because they were tricked into blooming early and were done before the winter follow up. I only hope the greens survive enough to fed the bulbs for next year.

I have a wall of daffodils that froze enough that most of the leaves turned brown and the flowers were killed off before they could bloom. Other blooms are feeble at best.

The pic was taken back on 2/23/16 after an ice/slush storm. They never bloomed. I can only hope they recover enough to have a bloom next year.
