The ice is what did that. I have a friend who lives in the north and has said if it only snows they will be ok. But ice is a different thing.

Some of my earlier sprouting daffodils were tricked into growing and then crushed by a late arriving winter. In the past I've lost some of these types not because of the cold but more because of when the cold hit. This is a jonquil type which went to mush in February.

It's tried to come back since, but I haven't been out to look at is since the last cold snap.

Oh, you guys are scaring me. It will go down to 27F today. It is windy but not raining, but most things are wet. The early blooming daffodils have finished and the late blooming ones have set buds. I have covered some of my perennials, but not most of my bulbs. I hope I don't loose flowers /buds.

Thanks Sandyslopes! Everything seemed to come out ok. I covered a few things that were new or rather tender, but doubt it was totally necessary.
