shenue, I see you're in Maryland. I would think most if not all alocasias could handle full sun there. Are you asking about any alocasias in particular?

If you'd like to try A. plumbea nigra and/or a light form of plumbea, I can send you some bulbs or young plants for postage when your weather warms. Most of mine are still dormant but they'll be up soon here in Florida. I also probably have an extra Borneo Giant if you're interested.

Hi Russ1023, Thanks for responding. I have my eye on an Alocasia Myan Mask. The EE will be potted in a large pot and will be on my porch. The porch gets afternoon sun. I have grown EE's on the porch previously and have had fairly good success. But I was just wondering if there are any Alocasias that do better than others in full afternoon/evening sun.

I think you'll be fine with Mayan Mask in Maryland sun, I would be less sure if you were in Texas, Florida, etc. That said, I've not grown this hybrid.

Brian Williams, hybridizer of Mayan Mask among others, would probably field this question direct if you email him, he lives in a northern state so would be familiar with the intensity of your sun.

Interesting you've bought from Brian in the past, how did that go regarding quality and size of plants vs the prices? I've collected aroids for many decades and he does have some uncommon philodendrons that I'd like to have, albeit on the pricey side.
