Are sight lines around the driveway an issue?

Check whether the junipers will appreciate your drainage. If not, consider white cedar AKA arborvitae AKA Thuja occidentalis if you don't have deer. Available in different foliage colors and heights.

Lindera benzoin creates a fine haze of tiny yellow early spring flowers and stunning yellow fall color (back center of photo below). Gets a bit taller than 10'.

Hydrangea paniculata has large white changing to pink flowers for months and is fine in full sun. (far left after blooms have frosted in photo below)

Look at some of the ninebarks/Physocarpus. Here's an evaluation of them that will tell you the ones least likely to have mildew, though I've never had an issue with it on either Coppertina or Tiny Wine.

I like having one or more anchor shrubs (usually evergreen) that repeat down the length of a bed, and then intersperse that with a variety of other plants that may or may not repeat. It gives me more variety than just two kinds of plants, and a long season of interest.

And just so we can use similar terms when describing similar things, what is really being discussed here is not a hedge, which usually is a sheared composition, often of a single species. Here we're describing a shrub border or screen. And NH has a dandy example of this.

Moonglow is a scopulorum, right? If you have any high levels of humidity in the summer they will not do well. There are other species of Juniper that will work far better, as well as all manner of arborvitae as NHBabs mentioned.

Good point about Moonglow, cearbhaill. It is a western juniper and so likes dry air as well as dry soil. In wet situations it is even more prone than other junipers to fungal problems and rarely lives long.
