Many of my figs ' naturally' grow either shrubby of straight up..Many too produce lots of suckers...I try to to fight mother nature and just keep them pruned to good size to allow maximum fruit yield..Have you ever thought of an 'Atreano' fig or ''Chicago Hardy' since naturally they like to grow straight up with short tight branches like a tree?

You can cut the two suckers coming out of the bottom and leave the two higher branches which will form a double-trunk

Or cut everything except one of the branches and stake it to grow straight, it will then branch off nicely

With figs you can train them to any shape you want as long as it's done when their young
