Beautiful outsides, fairly respectful living rooms, but kitchens and baths, heck no, who needs those. Sigh.

I have to say they mostly make me sad, because I think they actually believe those kitchens and baths are somehow "period". Well, I guess that's right, but just not the period they think they are. I bet some incredible stuff went to make way for those.

Anyway, thanks for posting. They are beautiful houses and an interesting look at the lens through which most people today understand old houses.

Pretty homes. I don't like to be critical, but yeah, as an old house owner, not much in those homes looks period. Only one home (in the 2015) has the trim as it would have been and only one kitchen looked like it had anything from the period remaining. I also noticed how many of them looked to be done-up by the same designer, even the same blue and green colors used. Interesting.

I like the ones where they didn't paint all the woodwork white the best. I love all that old woodwork! There was a weird sameness about some of them, but that might be partly from the angles and photography. Great ideas for me with some wall color stuff. SO and I will be painting (walls) and he loves wood furniture, every color grain imaginable. Really debating on painting some of our woodwork, it is just pukey orange oak with no special details. I'm not a fan of the orange spectrum of wood. That's why some of that old wood is so amazing--maple, cherry, walnut, hickory, ash, even chestnut. You just can't get that kind of wood anymore. The wood is available but the quality just isn't there/
