I'm not so much concerned about the color of the couch, or even the shape. Very 80s! I'm concerned about how small it is compared to the space it is sitting in. Perhaps it shouldn't be the main event in the room. It should be more of an accent piece or a secondary piece. Not sure.

I would like to keep the sofa and change everything else including paint, love grey earthy tones. Need lamps,chairs, table

It is small. Will there be a small den, sunroom or office where you could use it? Think it would look great flanked with these chairs and a big round coffee table.

Well, how about a baby grand to fill up the space? lol... Really would need to see more aspects of the room than this aerial shot to help in depth.

First, decide your style...traditional versus contemporary. Then decide what pieces you would like to keep or re-purpose. Then I would choose a new area rug for the space. do you want to keep the existing floor? A wood floor would be gorgeous- but it looks as though you may be someplace that is warm and beachy, so that may not be a good idea. I would bring some deeper tones of the turquoise. Lots of metallics and shimmer. I think an amimal print area rug could work if you are up something eclectic and fun.

I think sofa is pretty nice. Unfortunately I don't see how you can change everything else without repainting the walls?! If you're going "Eclectic" you can get in touch with us!

I love Manon's and others' ideas but I first would cement the look of your sofa. So, I would do this chair as a pair and then you can go any direction you wish. :// Glass top table for dining. Dining Chairs w/table 39" almost square stainless steel coffee table
As for art, I would suggest you find something that has a touch of your blue/green sofa (the blue/green in this one is not quite right) and move more toward the warm colors such as shades or purple, warm grays, etc. This will give you a new palette.

Here is another rug that could stand alone or it could work in conjunction with the first rug.

You could use something like the little purple table between your two chairs.

The tall back rattan chair can replace your current upholstered chairs in the dining room. These rattan chairs have an easily removable seat for reupholstering.

A sample of a chair and ottoman to replace recliner. Would have to be repositioned in the room.

Chair does not swiver

May I suggest that you probably won't want to keep all of the furniture that comes with this house. I've found one of the best ways to pare it down is to pull what you want out of the space, and add what you don't want to it. Then have a "living estate sale." You can usually get better $$ than with an auction, if you have the time to spend a couple of days prepping and then hosting the sale.

Deco, I made a correction above on the chair. I was mistaken as it is the Amos chair that swivels (same look with a swivel base). Sorry! :)

I like Karen Paul's suggestions (also Mano, Deco,) - I think some more "rattan" tropical type inspired furnishings - I'd change out coffee table, console table, leather recliner, glass & lamp combos for sure. And a white baby grand. I would not paint! Maybe ... an equal sized tan love seat with aqua/gray inspired throw pillows to replace white barrel chairs

Why do you want to keep the sofa? Is it the color? the ;leather? the price of replacement? AMN is correct about the proportion however you can balance it with another sofa of the same size...does not have to be the same design or color. I should add that leather furniture can be painted and using appliques which are removed after the painting can also have designs. This looks to be a beach house? If so, consider a sisal rug and sand colored walls as you redecorate. I am a over of living colors and suggest you consider mixing in brightly colored art and colorful furnishings. A room this size can be made more intimate with 2 or 3 seating areas and a long narrow farm style table. If it is a beach house consider treated or indoor/outdoor fabrics for protection from sunscreens, salt water, and chlorine. I am attaching some photos of color combinations for you to ponder. :).
