The door entrance of hallway has no frame and is arched.

Im going to remeasure again tomorrow morning.

Should I leave 4 inches extrra on each side?

You wouldn't need that much on each side but it's up to you. I typically say 4" total not 8". Does that make sense?

I ended up buy one from local carpenter. Shipping was costly and I could drive to pick the door up.

If you go to the minwax website they have their color guide and that is the stain we use! Hope that helps.
