this building could be really cool especially depending how playful trend forward you want to be. But it is really difficult to describe what actually to do and what actual colors to use without it really become a free job. But trust, you could really have fun making it look nifty.

Houzz is more focused on residential designs. For this type of building it's best to consult an architect.

The building is 30 years old,made of concrete blocks located in northern Canada.I was looking for ideas (should I keep the arches,use the acrylic stucco,cover or keep the brick...) not looking for some one to do free job this is not who I am....regards Draga

I think what you do with the exterior depends on what the building is used for. I can't tell from the photos. Some type of greenery along the road would soften the look and keep snow from piling up in the parking area. Put something in that is resistant to road salt

Too bad you can't do anything with those meter sets and hanging wires. They really stand out. I guess you might be able to aggregate them to one location and run conduit along the roof or side of the building painted to match the exterior colors.

I'd keep the white and do bright colors for the arches, different colors for each one. You could do one color in different shades (ie dark to light blues) go from one color to another (blue to turquiose to green), pick a theme, say tropical with turquiose, coral, and bright yellow or jewel tones with ruby, emerald and sapphire

I'd paint the doors, too.

You could put plants between units, but really, I think bright, bright colors is what you need to combat the industrial grunge look. Too much bright color (ie painting the white part turquoise) often ends up looking desperate. White with bright will look nice.

I like Sigrid's idea too but rather than going all over the place, why not take one tone of colour and make it get darker (or lighter) as you go along the arches, this will create a visual interest, and a pattern that the eye looks for (especially in a car going by). Since the fashion is for ombre fabrics - you could create an ombre building!

I like kgarrison's suggestion because dark colours attract the sun and since your building is in a cold climate this could be helpful. Painting the arches bright would give you the punch you're looking for and the large numbers will make it easy to find the shop you're looking for. I know that now that I'm older finding addresses has become harder (eyesight isn't what it used to be) so this would help older shoppers. Good luck and please post some pictures when you're done.

i love the color in your sandblast comment! sophisticated, but not too serious. so many accent colors would look great with it too, from black to brink red to ...

I really wouldn't like to disturb my tenants with sandblasting mess and as it is an older building I think I will go with acrylic stucco. I wonder does it come in different colours? Yes I will post pictures. Should I have signs for the businesses all the same? Thank you

If it were my building, I think I would remove the arch on the center bay. I think it looks a little malnourished next to the others.

I think signs for the business' should probably be all the same in order to present an orderly facade. Perhaps black and white signage.

Maybe you could take photos of the surrounding area and have them made into tile murals.. in between the arches.. they don't have to be too big .. depending on your budget

Go with solar/led if you can find something long-lasting. I love your building by the way. Unique. You've received many quality ideas already. As for ambient lighting-on each colum. However, for insurance purposes you probably should bounce light wherever possible in darkest corners...
