I agree, you don't need a tub!! Now that my kids are older I want to get rid of mine too!

Nix the tub!

It all depends on how long you plan on staying in your home. The tub is quite strange. Large shower stalls are all the rage in city condos. Nonetheless, if you are selling in the next few years, many buyers like to have a tub for soaking (they crave that spa feeling with candles and champagne!) or they bathe their small children in a tub.

There is a hall bathroom tub. We just purchased the house a year ago and plan to stay for at least 10 years, so I say we should do what we want, but as I said I am having a hard time convincing my better half.

LOL that is my tub! Funny part is that I want to replace it with a bigger jetted tub. We have a water closet and walk in shower but that's the act tub, tiles, faucet and all. As long as there is one tub in the home you'll be fine with resale. As you can tell from my long term plans you can never make everyone happy. I want more tub and you want more shower.

I thought this development was the only houses that have this tub.

Janet you can do away with the tub in the master bath and turn the area into a large walk in master shower. Just as long as there is another tub in the bathroom.

Except I thought garden tubs are in mobile homes!!
