There are two options when selecting paint color with brick. You can either complement it or contrast it.

Complementary colors would be colors found in the brick itself, for example burgundy or the black in the picture above. In your brick I'd say rust, reds, oranges, and shades of brown including cream or off-white.

Contrasting colors are opposite on the color wheel, so the opposite of red is green, the opposite of orange is blue. If you want to accent both the color and the brick, I'd opt for a blue-grey accent, which will stand out against the orange tones of brick.

Black is a great option for some shades of brick, especially those that are deeper red, however from what I can see if your photo, it looks more rust or orange toned, so black may not be the best option as orange and black are a jarring combination with too high of a contrast. That's why I suggested a blue with grey in it, because a bright blue would be too high of a contrast just like black.

You could choose a warm blue (closer to aqua) or a cool blue (closer to indigo) and both would work as long as they were muted.
