I was following you until I got to the end. You really don't want to go cheap on a part that is going to be a challenge to replace down the road. It's really a matter of pay now or pay later.

I would never go CHEAP on a valve, you are absolutely right. What I wanted to say is that it should be only the lower end of the price spectrum of quality volume control valves.
To be more precise: we are planning to go with Grohe Concetto for most of our bathroom faucets, but the Concetto series does not have a volume control valve that fits the design. So we are looking for alternatives.

I use Kohler products. What kind of configuration are you setting up, sometimes a divertor will work?

Hi Norm, it would be a volume control valve, as I want to control the flow to a handshower and the flow to a shower head fully independent.

I found a Hansgrohe volume control valve in the meantime that seems to fit the Grohe Concetto, it is the Axor Uno. I also looked at the Kohlers, the alternative is the Kohler Stillness, which looks very nice and modern, but I am concerned that the different handle style to the Grohe Concetto could be an issue. The Hansgrohe has a simple round shape and therefore appears to be less of a style conflict.

Kohler does have alot more flexibility when building your own luxury shower.

We finally decided to go with Hansgrohe after looking at the various options from Kohler. They are the closest to the Concetto style from Grohe.
