I did some Windmills last week too.

They have just barely started to germinate. I can't wait for the to get bigger!

They germinated?????? I must have bad luck with germinating... Maybe I just get all the duds. Very happy for you!

So you used a cap of peroxide in 1 cup of water? I think I'll have to try that on my next batch of seeds. Please tell me how they do!

I had one very eager seed germinate within a week. After that I took them all out of the bags and put them into a container with sterile mix. I then labeled them with species, date and number of seeds. I figured I should start to see some action in the container by the end of the month.

palmsandsnow I used to have horrible luck with palms seeds but not this time. I found that fresh seeds are the key. Oh yeah and mucho patience. Good luck.

Yeah.. Luckily, I had a batch of Phoenix Canariensis that did about 90% germination rate. I was really encouraged by that. I also felt more confident with a heating mat. I am going to try the paper towel method with the remaining Butia Capitata seeds that I have.... I am going to try hydrogen peroxide to try and sterilize it a bit to.
