Agreed -- order them now. All you'll waste is the one extra finished panel on the side of the current cabinets. Should be able to install to match what's there. It will always look like an oversight otherwise.

Not too late. Add the cabinet and a side panel.

I wouldn't put anything up there, except a cabinet.

You now need an end panel to match your cabinets that is deep enough to hide the side of your fridge, just short of the hinge, which will be secured to the back wall and your pantry cabinet. Then you need a fridge cabinet either 12 or 24" deep that will be suspended between the pantry cabinet and the end panel, but mounted closer to the front of the fridge so it appears more built in. If there is enough room to add end panels to both sides of the fridge that will look even better. There will be a void behind the upper cabinet and the wall that will be hidden by the end panel.

first... nice kitchen.

second... google tells me people utilize that space with shelves, or cook book storage, or wine bottle racks.

but i agree with previous poster and order cabinets if possible.
