Don't go with a mirror above the bed... It would be too much. You do need something though. An abstract print, or a wall tattoo would go well.

Andrea, it looks nice to me. It's matte & antiqued quality is a slight drift from, but a nice, balancing addition to the polished look your room currently has. the antiqued effect could've been more pronounced but that can be ignored.. Moreover, there are instances of such mirrors being paired with a headboard like yours. so I think it is fine. :)

it seems it adds an actual darker colour too than your bed's, is it darker?

I would not recommend a mirror above the bed for the simple reason that if by any chance it comes off it will land right on your head or any vulnerable point,so just shelve the idea ,maybe on the opposite wall is ok but some wall art is needed.I usually dont like shelves with books or glass stuff to be kept on the wall behind your head just for the reason I have mentioned .no,no as safety is primary before looks.

Clearly, whatever you hang over the bed will need to be properly anchored, but to dismiss a really legitimate design idea because of the fear that it may fall is sort of bizarre.

Agree with Daniel.. Such a fear would apply to any and all interesting wall decor, excluding decals & wallpapers

Love the Old Hollywood Glam look! Once you get the wallpaper up it may be enough, but if not you could do a dreamy black and white photograph blown up or silvery/pewter curtains that fall from the ceiling just behind the headboard.

Love ginkgoglass's suggestion above. It's a personal touch too. A snap from the wedding maybe? Love current one Andrea has on display - v cute. if am not wrong, Andrea isn't going with wallpaper, as she will shift eventually..

I have a sunburst over my bed and it is stunning, anchored properly. The mirror part is small like the one above and my mirror just makes the whole room. And I got the idea from a decorator show house held last year and the sunburst mirror idea was by one of the very top designers in my metropolitan area. The mirror completed my room as something was missing. I strongly recommend you go forward with the idea. It changes a whole room. It has never fallen either.

Update on the bedroom I finally started the decorating process and added an accent wall for interest. Still on the hunt for the perfect fit above the bed but the room is coming together

Hope you don't mind...I borrowed your idea of crystal lamps. Bought mine on ebay! The colors on my bedding show up strange in the light...in reality, the linen bedding matches the bed...all from Restoration Hardware, furniture Raymour and Flanigan.

My next step is to add mirrors behind the end tables.

Dimond Lighting - D1812 they were $400 each on ebay, new in box, from a lighting store......everywhere else I saw them they were around $550. I've never spent that on a lamp before, but I knew that looking at them every night would make me smile.

They are beautiful! I have had a hard time on settling on mine because my nightstands are a gold leaf but I think I finally found the perfect fit and they look similar to yours!

Thank you all! Kit I changed it about a month ago. I guess I wanted something less modern and more transitional. Since this is a queen size it will be our future guest bedroom bed when we move and upgrade to a king in the next house

I would add the other lamp for sure . Also with the corals you have you can change it up by adding colors of the seasons and also bright ones like Corals. Hot pinks lime greens ,yellow like throw blanket , pillows ,vase with soft textures and even rough . i would add a nice contrast picture also .
