Why do you think they contain lead? What other chemicals do you think they contain?

It was all the over the news a couple of years ago and I am not willing to take any chances. Here are the reports. Keep in mind that the stores whose bags were of "legal limits" were not replaced which would signify that bags still contain lead.

Unbelievable you are so afraid of unsubstantiated internet information from years gone by. Just get approved organic pots and quit being afraid of and don't use shopping bags.

Some of those shopping bags may contain lead, depending on what they are made of and where they were made. Generally reusable shopping bags made in the
USA of cotton will be okay to use.

You may find that some people come to this organic gardening forum simply to provide misinformation.

Thanks! I appreciate it :) I was worried because last year I planted in pots that were made of pvc (not knowing it was an issue until months later) so this year I am trying to do my "due diligence" prior to poisoning anyone. lol I was not trying to create a fuss. I'm still an novice.
