Full sun? Are you irrigating? How high? Are you willing to clip, prune or maintain? Do you mind some spines? Where in world in zone 10? Florida? San Diego? Italy? Makes a difference.

Perhaps Carissa macrocarpa, Clusia, Croton, Indian hawthorn, Viburnum, Acalypha, the list is endless.

Or something completely different--shrubby Aloes--spectacular display of flowers feed bees, hummingbirds, warblers, orioles in winter/spring, foliage that colors up in winter and summer depending on species, plus textural interest. Near zero maintenance, cut off the old bloom stalks when they are done blooming--done. Aloe petricola, wickensii, valbalenii. capitata, 'Cynthia Gitty'.

Also need to know if you are zone 10 in Southern California or zone 10 in south Florida or Hawaii. Very different.

I like hoovb's ideas. You've got an opportunity to do something quite interesting there, and from what I've seen, southern Cali succulents are hard to beat.
