I have a GL Taber azalea with 3 magenta sports. I think last year there were only two sporty branches. Do these mutations spread? Also, there are a handful of chimera flowers (part pink, part magenta) on other branches (the sport branches are all magenta). The half-and-half flowers appeared 2 years ago, then last year a sport branch, and this year it seems like more sport branches. So, I wasn't sure if the mutation is "spreading" or not? If yes, can I stop it by just cutting off the mutated sport branches and picking off the chimera flowers? I prefer the pink flowers to the magenta and would like to keep the bush so. Thanks.
