Kitchen Countertop dilemma

Remodeling kitchen, have chosen Crema Marfil marble countertops but have been advised not to use as they are more porous than granite and quartz products and stain easily. Is there any type of finish that could deter this or an alternative product that would be similar to Crema Marfil?
