I'm not sure what the problem is. Is this about you not wanting to get wet? The plants will be fine. A heavy downpour might bend the leaves down, but they'll perk right up when the sun comes out.

Transplanting before the rain is the best time...As long as they don't go under water.

I hope you are not being flooded like Texas.

But an inch or two of rain should be fine. The problem is not the planting in the rain but the condition of your garden/bed soil. I would not plant in a pile of mud.

But I'd be tempted to go and investigate the site and if the soil feels as though it could handle being worked a tiny bit, I might do it.

Ok great, thanks. We are getting a lot of rain, but nothing like the flooding in Texas. I was concerned that the rain might damage them. I have had them outside under the covered porch for about a week, sometimes bringing them into the rain when its not to heavy. The soil is good! Looks like I'm going to be transplanting today while we have a break in the rain.
