I plant them 4 inches apart around the trellis. My teepees have a 3 foot diameter. Their circumference is 113. inches. At 4 inches apart, that's 28 plants. Yes. That's about right. One teepee will feed us all we want fresh and freeze some. Two teepees give me a year's supply. (I am feeding two adults.)

I grow them around a cage and plant them about 3" apart. They do fine.

Donna, so you need one pole for each plant? If so, for 28 plants, you have 28 poles for one teepee?

seems like it. that is a pretty large tepee..
this can be done fairly cheaply and easy.. just hammer a decent size pole (metal electrical conduit) into the ground, say 1 and 1/2 inches by 10 feet.. 2 feet into the ground and 8 above ground. tie twine from the top of the pole and stake into the ground. the more plants you add, the larger the circumference you need to make to space them properly.

personally, would do a T post type trellis. plants would likely get more sunlight rather than being shaded depending on the location of the sun in a tepee type trellis.
