Evergreen x Ruby Star

This cross did not quite live up to my expectations. The flowers are tilted downward, and the coloration is not vivid. The overall size is nice as a sonatini, without the overly long scapes of both parents. I suspect that will change as this plant grows...

Bill, I think this is just lovely!! I would be quite pleased if it were mine and you seem to always get 4 flowers on your maiden blooms!! I hope she's a keeper and I can't wait to see the others from this cross!

Are you kidding??? This is beautiful and you know I'm a huge fan of the shorter growing hippies :-))))) I have a good feeling the color will change next year and then you'll have to be careful I don't swipe it :-))))

It's pretty! This color can be expected from a green and red cross. I think the scape height is just right for that size of flowers. Congratulations!

I just recently bloomed a clivia seedling that I grew from seed I planted from South Africa 6 years ago. The breeder asked me if I was happy with it. I told her, how could I not be happy, they are like our children.

LOL! You all make me feel embarrassed not to be thrilled with this one. I have too many children now, and the excess must be sent to the orphanage (my garden). This one will certainly get lost there. The downward-facing blooms is a real problem because to appreciate it you either have to stand below it or lift the flower. It doesn't help that this seedling bloomed after a couple of Evergreen x Exotic Star crosses that have similar coloration.
