Yeah I've read through other forums and whatnot before I decided to even join a forum. The only reason I even joined was to maybe actually talk to people.. you know discuss my personal situation.. not read an old thread from someone else. Thanks for your input.

Thank you gardengal I will definitely be doing much more research regardless, I dont plan on getting this rolling so late during the planting season. Maybe next year for now I'm just trying to fill up my note book. Thank you though :)

I'm starting a lot of my plants this year in order to have plants for next year. By then I should have acquired enough information to either get this rolling or abandon the idea. Either way I'm gonna be doing this operation as my hobby just looking for ways to make a little profit from it. I have an example of what I was thinking, my grand mother was telling me about an older couple who grows a back yard full of various hibiscus plants. A few times during the summer they pull their plants to their driveway and have a big garage sale type event and are quite successful by using craigslist, social media, word of mouth.. etc. In my neighborhood to have a garage sale I just need a permit. In other threads I've read people who do it in that manner don't have the licenses/permits that a full on garden center would have. That's how I'd like to start and maybe after seeing some success grow into something larger and more professional.

Blake, yes you need a TX Nursery license, not having one could cost you much more than the little money, time and effort it costs you to get one. plenty of examples out there of people that started same way google waxahachie crape myrtles to find someone between you and me doing same thing. He ships small plants right out of his backyard in his "spare time" until it becomes self supporting. With our long growing season, a variety of blooming plants will keep attraction to your yard. I'm in Denton area and I think our last frost was in mid march much less a freeze. Actually a bigger problem this year with not enough chill hours for a lot of things.
