Many, many thanks! After
a disastrous misadventure with another promising seedling’s scape earlier in
the year, it is wonderful to be a Hippeastrum Mama again. I am smiling and doing the happy dance.

Anja, this seedling has no fragrance. I hope that Papa will flower again this
summer so that I am able to backcross.

Did you expect a fragrance? The seed parent (H.cybister "Chico") is not fragrant, and I did not experience fragrance of the pollen donor ("Pink Floyd") either. Did Papa really survive until now? CONGRATULATIONS!!!

It's very satisfying when a cross turns out like a blend of the characteristics of the two parents - much better than finding it has turned out a very non-descript red after years of anticipation. Nice one.
