For a backsplash? I think the tile is too big for the size kitchen. If you had shelf open type kitchen without upper cabinets maybe it might work. For a cleaner look perhaps smaller, a lot smaller, version of the tile you've chosen with matched grout colour. Best of luck!

Look at something like a 6X18. 12X35 is going to give you a lot of cuts and defeat the purpose of a large tile. If you stack them rather than doing a brick or 1/3 offset and use grout in a color close to the tile, you'll get a nice clean look.

Consider 12"x18" vertically installed (one layer counter to upper cabinets).

As last poster said, 12x35 will need too much cuts.
