What is the flooring in the rest of the house/adjacent areas? Usually it's best to unify floors for a less cut up total result. The red in cherry cabinets makes them a natural for slate floors as well if a change is desired, and that also pairs nicely with soapstone, or quartz. The point being an antidote to the natural red in the cabinetry, and the reason the rest of the flooring you showed is no, no, no in that order : ) With soapstone and wood flooring below

I have white appliances and like them just fine - but I am not fond of the look of an over the range microwave. Replacing that with a hood would help decrease your feeling of the white not blending. I stained an unfinished wood hood to match my cabinets and used a vent insert - this is more expensive then a simple hood but it does pretty up the kitchen a bit. The only difficulty with that is filling in the space from the micro as the hood will be higher. If you have any backsplash tile left then there is no problem. I prefer my cabinets stained, but your cabinets might be maple and maple paints up much better than oak. Many of the newer kitchens I have seen lately combine white upper with warm wood lowers. You might consider something along that line as long as it does not look like you stopped painting half way through. You could paint the uppers then see what you think. Warm grays often read with a bit of a green undertone. If you have the budget, a natural white oak floor is very durable and flexible style wise. I have the more "old fashion" version with 2 1/4 planks - but it is a floor that can be found in homes over a hundred years old - so more timeless than trendy. The more modern version is in wider planks - expensive, but very pretty. You might look for an LVP vinyl plank with the same look. Thank you all for your help months ago! Here is an update on our kitchen and things we changed: Painted walls SW Canvas Tan, lowered bar, Giallo Verona granite countertops, SS undermount sink, new faucet, pendant lights, Pottery Barn roman shades, window seat cushion, pillows, SS appliances, and we are currently doing a bone colored crackle tile backsplash (will complete tiling small wall next weekend-some pictures were taken before appliances and backsplash since we have just done those in the last few weeks). We did decide not to paint the cabinets but if we do in the future, they will be similar to the tile backsplash color. My husband liked this countertop-it is not black honed granite but also not yellow which you all stressed to avoid. It has the bone color, light tan, brown, black and gray in it-looks great with our walls, cabinets, the new SS appliances and other warm tones in our house. Thanks again for all your help.
