More curb appeal!

What can I add to this back of small cottage? I don't want to block sun from these windows with trees though. The main entrance is to the right side.

A photo or drawing would help me visualize.

Thanks!

How is it that you have windows to rooms that do not appear to open? I would think that would be against the building code.

60s....crank outs....maybe older. They open. Thanks

Pretty cottage! Consider filling in the space between the two trellis planters with more plants like the one that is there. Vary the heights with another 5 or so. Also you could add a couple of more seating alternatives and add colorful pillows to your settee.

i would look into some 'real sized windows' if its possible in any of those locations. the expensive part is accomplished, you have headers at the right height. replace your babies with taller windows. easy enough to patch your clapboards. have a think on it, get an estimate.

Thanks for explaining the window situation. So the area appears to have some sort of hard surface that doesn't allow for planting vegetation in the ground. I can only suggest that it be viewed as a side patio and some sort of outdoor "room" be created with patio furnishings & repetitive planters along the wall of the house.

I actually have planted plants and they take well! This is actually our driveway too, which I have to leave basically free for parking visitor cars and to pull boats twice/year. The side near the door is where I have seating. I was looking for ideas to punch up the plain backside (front) of cottage. Thanks again!

HI -- Looks like a nice place . You could add a couple of galvanized animal water troughs for more flowers and even some vegies or one could be a water feature with a fountain or spout of moving water . Galvanized metal containers look great for cottages .
