I have a few Pristine trees which I really am fond of. This is a summer Apple with eating quality of a fall Apple. They fill a harvest slot that Lodi or Yellow Transparent just could not fill. Flavor is not exceptional, but quite good. Texture is what really sets this variety apart from other early bearers.

Oh! I see! Far from me! But good to know. I was very curious about/interested in the pristine apple. Suppose to have very good resistance to most apple diseases. Looks delicious! Let us know when you finally taste them!

Zone 4a/b here. I also have pristine on Bud 9 but it has only been in the ground 1 year. That said it is pushing buds and I see 2-3 flower clusters so at least it surivied last winter. Check my profile and other posts for many other plants surviving in my zone if you need ideas.

From my 2017 report: Apple - Pristine Bud9- DR (Planted May 2015 from Whiffletree) – Survived. No dieback. Flowers started May 18 and peaked May 27. First fruit was obtained August 15th with mostly brown seeds. By August 20th the fruit was beginning to drop. They are very attractive apples being golden yellow with a rose blush. Hint of golden delicious flavours but as time went on a very strong floral note became predominant. Sweet tasting with brix ranging from 11 to 14 brix. Refrigerated apples became WAY to floral for my taste. Not sure I will keep them. (87 days from flower to fruit).

I felt like my Pristine apples had a hint of "pineapple" like flavor.
