The paving is loose Alabama brown pea gravel.

i love the look but if one was bare foot does this gravel stick to the feet?

Unless your feet are really tough, loose peagravel is not a good surface for bare feet

how deep do you set the grael?

There is a 6" layer of compacted ABC on top of which is placed a 1" layer of brown pea gravel.
