My Old Lady curtains

I embrace that old lady moniker. I'm not there chronologically (yet), but I think my choice of curtains applies. I opened one panel so you could enjoy the delightful parrots amongst the flowers. Perfection!

I think they are absolutely delightful, and not OL-ish at all! Love the vibrant colors - you can’t help but smile when looking at these. And I admit to being pretty much of a curtain snob because I make all my own, to my own requirements and taste.

Oh man....I was hoping to get a lead on some vintage lace sheers. :)

Bright and happy! A "modern" interpretation of a pattern that could appear to be 'old lady' if they had chosen different colors.

Well, I'm not sure they qualify as old lady :)

I am not usually a curtain person but I like these!

I need curtains just like those for my bedroom! I really need them - once the decision is made if the bedroom is expanding or not. Either way, I will eventually need them.

I already have the Mother-in-Law's Tongue plant, and green walls, and photos of former beloved parakeets, cockatiels, and an African Grey parrot.

My "nest" will be a Nest !

The parrot, Jake, is still living, but he had to get a less-mobile mother. I was running into lots of red tape and long quarantines to take him to England with me when I was stationed there.

"He" turned out to be a "she" and his new mother had a "he." They are great friends, but no hanky-panky.

I love these! Can you tell me whether the background is more cream or more white? I'm looking for curtains for one of the rooms..

I was thinking bark cloth too. Love the print and the colors. Do you feel like sharing a photo of the room?

They definitely have a cream background. Caroline, I don't think World Market has the Bird Ornithology curtains now.

happy2b, I will gladly share my room. I have a very small place, about 1000sqft. I painted all the walls white and it pleases me greatly. I recently added IKEA Stocksund sofas in red, another happy choice. I am working on throw pillows. The black and white ones won't stay when I find the ones I love. There will be no rug. Dachshunds. Enough said. ;) The lamp is up for replacement as well, but overall, I smile when I walk into my room.

What a cheerful room, Anniecat...not OL at all!

Those curtains are not "old-lady"! I love the colours (Ok so I am an old lady if 63 is old-ladyish) and they just perk up and brighten your room. No wonder you smile when you walk into it.

    Awwww, thanks Y'all.

Thanks for showing us your room. it makes me smile too. I would love to have a cup of tea and good book in that room.

Those are my kinda curtains but I'm looking for older. The lace stuff. Are you saying Kippy and I should think of a Plan B?

I love your curtains and your room. To me "old lady" means the complete package, not just one item like curtains, which you can take in so many different directions, and you've taken yours into a very fortuitous one. Not everyone would have the courage to have red furniture, but what a difference it makes! Think of that in a safe beige (ahem, my furniture) and you lose that whole vibrant, happy feeling.

I have gotten less "old lady" as I have aged! My choices are much more brave. I have red sofas, burnt orange chairs, bright orange chairs, green leather sofa, blue velvet sofa, peacock blue velvet headboard, magenta chair ... not all in the same room, of course!

I love your sofas and curtains. Very pretty!

I did the white slipcover thing years ago and I'm at that place where I crave color. So red it is! Although, when summer lands in Texas, I may be purchasing a calmer, cooler color of slipcovers for the sofas. Time will tell on that!

I do not have fabric window treatments in my home (cats), but I love the fabric of those curtains so much I am thinking I may go visit our World Market on the off chance they have them so I can use them as fabric for some pillows.
