I put a picture in as an example of the size that is needed. Your art should not go above the niche where TV is and should not be wider than firebox.

I'd take those blocks away and put it in company with art that echoes the rock theme.

You don't need the candles there. They can do candle duty elsewhere.

I think it would look ok if it went over the level of the top of the niche by a fifth of its total height i.e. 1/5 above 4/5 below.

Not helpful, but I'd love to handle your stone sculpture. It is so tactile!

We wanted it to be a focal point in our room above the fireplace. Is there any way you can think of to showcase it something above (mirror, etc.). We really haven't been able to find another place for it & would love to have it in the F.R.

The blocks the stone is sitting on is just so we can see the various heights for placement. It is a very heavy piece & difficult to hold above, thus we put the wooden blocks so we could view different heights. The candles will not stay on mantel--we just hadn't taken them down from before.

Would a mirror be appropriate above? It seems to me that a painting above would take away from the sculpture being the focal point.

An image of something contextually related to the rocks perhaps...a desert sunrise....deep woodland...etc

Can you lay the stone sculpture flat on the floor and take a picture of it next to a yardstick so size will be apparent?

We need to see a better picture to get the best answer. It looks small and insignificant for that large a space.

Is the sculpture all one piece? What does the rest of the room look like? Post some more pics.

I would have a large shadow box made to hang over the piece after it is hung over fireplace...this will give it the illusion of being bigger and the shadow box with glass front will keep it from getting dusty. Some even have led lighting.

I forgot to mention that it has very small air plants that are placed in between the granite mountains, so covering it with glass probably would not be a solution.
